Still with FxPro 03-23-09: Currently I haven't found any other "ideal" broker. Each has their pros and cons. Now that I'm more aware of FxPro's quirks, I'm a bit more comfortable. Not to say that if I do find another "ideal" broker, I might make the change. If I do, I'll post it here and on my blog.
Closing my FxPro Account 01-25-09: Well after reading other experiences on forums, I've decided to attempt to withdrawl the remainder of my money and close my account with FxPro and search for another broker. Disappointing, but with all their connectivity issues and lack of responses, I'm erroring on the side of caution. If anyone has had positive experiences with another broker, please let me know their website. Thanks.
Update about FxPro 01-22-09: Please read my blog on FxPro's connection issues. It appears they loose connectivity around 9:00 EST. The previous evening they lost connection for over 4 hours, lost alot of money. Phone support was overwhelmed and you just got disconnected or a message stating try later. Not helpful if you have trades you need to close. I'm waiting on responses from FxPro, but I'm thinking seriously of changing brokers due this unreliablility. Also their spreads appear to be increasing during the EA's trading times. What a disappointment. Now I have to do the vetting process all over again.
Also it appears there's alot more involved trying to get your money out. You need to withdrawal your money the same way you deposited (If you read the small print they do note this, not sure why they care). Also, they required me to email a copy of my Credit Card with numbers edited out as a "security" precaution, We'll see if I get my money by the end of the week I hope.
I've set up my LIVE account thru FxPro. FxPro setup a LIVE account in only 2 hrs. Customer service was very good. They answered all my questions and were honest when they couldn't. Not to mention their spreads are much better. FxPro also transfered money into my account in less than 15 minutes using my Credit Card vs. the 3-4 days for a wire transfer. Now that's fast.
I was struggling trying to remember and determining market watch time in relation to GMT and my time zone when reviewing trades and determining when FapTurbo actually traded. I'm on EST so I believe I've finally figured out the trading times.
Hint: When looking at FxPro's Spreads, don't get confused, FxPro uses 5 decimal places, not 4 so what may appear as a 14 pip spread is actually 1.4 pip spread.
Also, FxPro is different than the questionable Fx-pro, don't get confused. Based on forum users, Fx-pro may have some very questionable practices.
In comparison, it's took 2 weeks for ForexMeta / FXDD to open a Live account for me which is still not setup correctly. Also they seem to keep increasing their spreads. ForexMeta / FXDD also do Not support Credit Card transactions.
That's just my experience.
